Christian-Jewish Council of Greater Charleston elects new president

The Christian-Jewish Council of Greater Charleston has elected a new president, Kenneth A. Fox of Charleston. Fox is managing partner of The Soundings Group LLC. He has served on the council's board for many years, most recently as vice president.

Also elected were two new board members: Robin Shuler and Judy Selby. Shuler is music director at Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim. Selby sings in the choir and is leader of the prayer team at Circular Congregational Church.

Recent events of the council include co-sponsorship of the Spirited Brunch May 21 with the College of Charleston Religious Studies Center and the Post and Courier and participation in “Food and Faith: A dialogue between Muslims and Jews” - also in cooperation with the College of Charleston.

The council will present a nationally known speaker on world religions October 28-30, an event that is free and open to the public. The council‘s annual interfaith Thanksgiving service will be Tuesday, Nov. 21. Watch for details later in the year.

The Christian-Jewish Council of Greater Charleston is an organization that seeks to build bridges of understanding to promote sensitivity, tolerance, respect and fellowship among religious groups. For more information visit christianjewishcouncil.org.
