Saturday, February 8, 2:00-4:00 pm. The East Asian Lunar New Year celebration began on January 29 and lasts for two weeks. To honor this important cultural observance, the CIC is partnering with Chinese restaurant Beautiful South in downtown Charleston for a fundraiser which includes tasting three types of rare Chinese tea, accompanied by paired dim sum (snacks from Southern China), and short presentations about Chinese New Year, tea culture in China, and tea as a symbol of interfaith hospitality.
